The Mental Wellbeing in Higher Education Group and Advance HE invite educators, researchers, and student services practitioners in the higher education sector to submit abstracts for their forthcoming conference, Mental Wellbeing in HE 2026 – It’s Not About Doing More, It’s About Doing It Differently: Intentional, Inclusive, and Mental Health-Informed Practice in Higher Education taking place in person on Wednesday 6 May.
Across higher education mental wellbeing continues to be spoken about as a priority, yet too often sits at the margins of everyday practice. In conditions of economic constraint and escalating workload pressures it is essential that we articulate why and how mental-health inclusive practice enables and sustains compassionate, clearly defined, equitable learning environments.
Rather than treating mental health as a separate concern, we will examine current sector challenges through the lens of mental health and wellbeing and illustrate how sophisticated, evidence-informed practice fosters constructive solutions and positive change. The conference will provide a space to share research, lived experience and practice and will help us move from awareness to action within an ongoing commitment to inclusion, sustainability and fairness for students and staff.
